Our Trip to Indiana

After a very long winter, Jeff and I decided that we needed to get away for a few days
- just the two of us!

Our trip began after school on Tuesday.  We bid a fond farewell to the children and away we went!  I often forget to take pictures, so I made sure to take a picture at every stop and visit.
Here ya go....

First Stop - Culver's in Belleville, Michigan.  My allergies were really bothering me which made my eyes itchy, hence no eye makeup.  :-)  The grilled hamburger melt and fried cheese curds were amazing!
My love and me!
Friends of over 22 years.  Out for breakfast at Cracker Barrel in Hammond, Indiana (with our bodyguard, Batman!)  Actually, that's Inez's grandson's booster seat.

Inez, Virginia and Sandy at Hyles-Anderson College in Crown Point, Indiana.

I had the privilege of observing my friend, Carrie, during a tour group practice.
It's been over 20 years since I attended a tour practice.  Precious memories!

Friends of over 25 years!  Yummy lunch at the Tomato Bar and a
very successful shopping trip

What a beautiful building!  We loved getting to join the folks at FBC for their Wednesday Bible study.
It was a joy getting to visit with Pastor & Mrs. Wilkerson after the service.

It's hard to believe that it's been over 17 years since we were both single attending church here.
I'll forever be thankful for this ministry.

We enjoyed having a late supper at the Round the Clock restaurant in St. John with our friends
Eddie & Jamie Lapina.  The fellowship was sweet and the lemon rice soup was surprisingly amazing!
I'd never tried it before and it was just delicious.

We decided that for every meal, we would try a restaurant that we could not enjoy at home (or within an hour of home.)  On Thursday for lunch we ate at Potbelly.  Yum, yum, yum!  We had "The Mess" wrap with loaded baked potato soup.  Happy tastebuds!

Baskin Robbins!  Need I say more?

Deb and I sang in a quartet when we were both college students.
Then she was my tour group trainer the first year I traveled on tour.  I
Michelle and I were roommates in college.

Michelle and I have been friends for so many years.
Her eldest son, David, was born just a few months before
Luke was born.  It was fun having babies close to the same time.  Now they're both taller than us!

What an extra special treat getting to visit with our friends, Emilio and Tina, on the way home.

Home, Sweet Home!
We had a really great time, but there truly is NO place like home.
Of course, after being just the two of us for a couple of days, Sophia didn't waste
any time in weaselling her way in between us.
